Why do I need a used cell phone?

I don't get it...I thought I needed to buy a cell phone from a carrier.  
Not true my friend.  The phones you find on snapjackwireless.com are not tied to a specific carrier but the technology is therefore, you will need to make sure that you get the correct phone, with the correct technology that will work with your wireless carrier.  Don’t worry though, we’ve taken all the guess work out of which phone has the technology you need and will show you which phones work with each carrier.  Simply search by carrier and then choose a phone.

But I don't want a long term contract...
No need to worry about any contract with any phone purchased on Snapjackwireless.com.  Contracts are required when purchasing new phones directly from the carrier that offer them with a large subsidy to make the more affordable.

Can you explain to me the difference between cell phone contracts and what you sell here without contracts... 
Sure.  Have you ever seen those great ads selling new cell phones for only $99?  Or even free?  Well you can't get those at those prices without signing a long term contract with the carrier making the offer.  These contracts are generally at least 2 years and come with some pretty stiff penalties should you decide to jump ship and take your business to another carrier.  They've got you tied in and recoup their money through these contracts.  Of course, they will sell you the same phone without a contract but it's going to cost you hundreds of additional dollars up front.  

For example:  You can buy the BlackBerry Storm from Verizon for only $149 as long as you agree to a 2-year contract.  If you break the contract you will owe Verizon up to $350.  If you want to buy the same phone from Verizon without being tied to a contract you will need to fork over $539!  On Snapjackwireless.com you can buy the same phone (in excellent used condition for only $169.  And that's with NO Contract.  Feel free to pick up and leave Verizon at any time you want and pay no additional fees.

But I don't have a carrier, what do I do now?
